Welcome to the beautiful Santa Ana National Wildlife Refuge located on the banks of the Rio Grande River on the United States/Mexico border in Alamo, Texas. This refuge was first established in 1943 and is important because it helps protect the habitat of an endangerd species of wild feline, the Leopardus pardalis AKA the ocelot. Some of the other resident wildlife include half of all North American butterly species, 400 species of birds, and many others. Come out and explore.
