Welcome to Indiangrass Wildlife Sanctuary located in Austin, Texas. This preserve helps to protect one of the most endangered ecosystems in the United States. Only 1% of the original tallgrass prairie, which once stretched from Canada to San Antonio, remains. It is not open to the public and all tours must be arranged.
When visiting any park in Austin Texas please respect the rules.
*The following activities require special permit, amplified sound, sales, camping.
*The following are all prohibited; Metal Detectors, boisterous behavior, foul language, glass objects, littering.
*Under Texas State Law Abandoned property, including motor vehicles, may be impounded and sold.
*All animals must be leashed (no longer than 6 feet) and waste removed.
*Consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited in athletic fields, swimming pool areas, and school parks.
*All vehicles must stay in designated areas and obey all traffic laws.
Please respect these rules, the parks, and all local, State of Texas, and United States statutes. Be safe and have fun.
