Goliad State Park and Historic Site is a place where one can learn a bit about Texas History, from Native Americans to Spanish Explorers to Texian soldiers. Perhaps the park's most unique feature is it's beautiful and historic Spanish Mission structure which the Civilian Conservation Corps helped to restore in the 1930's. In addition to learning a little history visitors can also do some paddling on the San Antonio River on the 6.6 mile Goliad Paddling Trail, fish it for bass, catfish, and sunfish, or explore the 2.5 mile Angel of Goliad Hike and Bike Trail which connects the park to downtown Goliad.
