Welcome to the beautiful Big Bend Ranch State Park located on the border with Mexico in the west Texas high desert country near Presidio. Many people come here to explore nearly 240 miles of multipurpose trails and see the beautiful red rock canyon scenery. The sunsets are magnificent. At over 300,000 acres this is the largest State Park in Texas and one of the largest State Parks in the Nation. It is located not far from Big Bend National Park.

Park History: Some of the park's geological history goes back half a billion years when it was an ancient seabed. In more recent history volcanic activity helped to shape the park's landscape.

Wildlife: Over 300 species of birds have been seen in Big Bend Ranch State Park making it a fantastic birding destination. Some of the more terrestrial wildlife include black bears, mountain lions, coyotes, and mule deer.
