Welcome to Rockport State Park located on the shores of the Rockport Reservoir near Peoa, Utah.

Park History: The region surrounding Rockport State Park was first colonized in 1860. The local citizens built a rock fort in order to protect themselves from the Native American uprisings. It was the home of about 200 people until they were forced out by eminent domain in 1957 when the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation began to build the Wanship Dam, creating the Rockport Reservoir.

Wildlife: Rockport State Park helps protect the home of numerous wild critters including jackrabbits, cottontails, chipmunks, mule deer, marmots, raccoons, badgers, squirrels, foxes, weasels, moose, bobcats, coyotes, and mountain lions. Please treat their home with respect.

For the lover of the outdoors this park boasts five developed campgrounds, numerous aquatic opportunities, multipurpose trails open year round, and so much more. Come on out and explore! The phone number is 435-336-2241.
