Territorial State House State Park Museum



Welcome to the oldest existing government building in the State of Utah, the Territorial State House State Park Museum located in Fillmore. Brigham Young, a very prominent Mormon Pioneer, directed the building's construction as the state capitol. The south wing was the only section completed and it was finished in December, 1855 just in time for the territorial meeting. Three years later in December 1858 the seat of government returned to Salt Lake City. returned to Salt Lake City. This park boasts an auditorium, a gift shop, two restored pioneer cabins, the schoolhouse from 1867, and a picnic area. Come on out and learn some history.
