Welcome to Poor Farm Park located in Ashland, Virginia. This park gets it's name because starting in the early 20th century, a farm was operated on this land that helped to feed some of the region's lower income families. Eventually this project ran out of money and the land was used by the local fire department for training exercises. Today Poor Farm Park boasts volleyball courts, three picnic shelters, hiking trails, lighted soccer fields and much more. Come out and have fun.
