Welcome to Monroe Park, an urban park located in downtown Richmond, Virginia right next to the campus of Virginia Commonwealth University. This is the oldest park in the City of Richmond, first established in 1851, and since that time it has been heavily used by local residents and university students. There is wi-fi internet connection for those who are interested in surfing the web in the sunlight, perhaps you are visiting this page while surfing the web at Monroe Park, one never knows.

When visiting any park in Richmond, Virginia it is important to know the rules.
*All parks are open from dawn until dusk unless otherwise posted.
*The following are all prohibited, glass objects, alcohol, golfing, archery.
*All animals must be leashed and waste removed. And with the exception of service animals dogs are only allowed at the following parks; Byrd Park, Chimborazoo Dog Park, Barker Field Dog Park, Forest Hill Park.
*All fires are restricted to fire pits and picnic grills.
*Please respect all park property including trees, bushes, benches, athletic amenities, etc.
*The following require special permits, stages, amplified sound, tents, conducting of sales, etc.
