Welcome to Vermont's beautiful Emerald Lake State Park located in East Dorset on the shores of the beautiful 20 acre Emerald Lake. This lake got it's name due to the fact that it's waters look green when viewed from above. This lake is closed to motorized watercraft which helps keep it clean and make it a great swimming hole for hot summer days. Non-motorized watercraft can be rented at the park office. The picnic shelter has a 100 person capacity and grills.

Park History: In the early 20th century this land was once part of North Dorset Farms which was owned by a man named Robert Shaw. When he passed away in 1957 the State of Vermont purchased about 1,000 acres from him and made one section into a State Park and another section into a State Forest.

To contact the office please call 802-362-1655.
