Welcome to Vermont's beautiful Bomoseen State Park located in the Taconic Mountains.

Park History: The land that is now Bomoseen State Park was once owned by Samuel L. Hazard who headed the Lake Shore Slate Company which operated a slate quarry on this land located in the heart of Vermont's slate region. Hazard bequeathed the land to his step-daughter Martha Warren when he passed away in 1929. Mrs. Warren eventually made the land her new summer home and in 1959 she generously donated 365 acres of land to the State of Vermont which opened it up as a State Park the following year.

For the lover of the outdoors Bomoseen State Park boasts one of the state's largest lakes with boating and fishing opportunities, miles of hiking trails, 66 campsites, and much more. Come on out and explore!
