Welcome to Vermont's beautiful West Rutland State Forest located on the top of a foothill near the top of the Taconic Mountains near West Rutland. The lowest point in the forest is about 700 feet above sea level and the highest point in 1800 feet so it's quite an elevation change. The primary recreational activity is hunting.
When visiting any State Park or State Forest in Vermont Please respect the rules.

*Glass objects are not allowed in pools or swimming areas.
*The following are only allowed in designated areas, metal detecting, swimming, camping.
*Children aged 14 and under must be supervised by adults.
*All pets must be leashed no longer than 10 feet and waste removed.
