Welcome to Madison's beautiful Kettle Pond Park, an urban wildlife oasis. Kettle Pond itself is one of the many ponds formed from glacial retreat at the end of the last ice age thousands of years ago. Today many avid bird-watchers come here to explore the nearly half mile of hiking trails. One can hope to catch a glimpse of ducks, blue herons, and many others. In addition to bird-watching the park's location along the railroad tracks also makes it a nice place for train watching.
