Welcome to the beautiful Lake View Hill Park, a Dane County Park located in Madison, Wisconsin, the state capitol. For many years a section of this park was used for the control of tuberculosis but today those buildings have a spot on the National Register of Historic Places by the United States Department of the Interior. This is one of the highest points in Dane County and thus offers an awesome view of nearby Lake Mendota. People come out here to explore the hiking trails, enjoy excellent wildlife viewing, or to simply relax. Some of the wild creatures that inhabit this land include white-tailed deer, swallowtail butterflies, squirrels, rabbits, red-tailed hawks, and many others.
This park was RecPlanet place of the day on November 1, 2014.
