Grand Teton National Park
Welcome to Grand Teton National Park located in the heart of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem in northwest Wyoming.
Park History: The successful John D. Rockefeller (whose son died on March 20, 2017) made numerous contributions to many National Parks including Grand Teton National Park. The John D. Rockefeller Memorial Parkway is located inside the boundaries of Grand Teton. Grand Teton National Park was first established by Congress in 1929 and over the years numerous extensions were made with the help of Rockefeller, the Snake River Land Company, and others.
Flora and Fauna: Grand Teton National Park helps protect the home of numerous plant and animals species. Some of the more than 1,000 plant species that grow inside the boundaries include willows, cottonwoods, bracken ferns, Engelmann spruces, Douglas Firs, aspens, and Indian paintbrush. Some of the wild animals who call this place home include moose, grizzly bears, black bears, wolves, and mountain lions. Please treat their home with respect.
For the lover of the outdoors Grand Teton boasts miles of trails, many mountains to climb, and so much more. Come on out and explore!
