California State Parks

Welcome to California's unique Ahjuwami Lava Springs State Park located out in the wilderness near McArthur. Ahjuwami is a Native American term that means "where the waters come together," and as the name Lava Springs implies this park was once the site of volcanic activity, even as recently as 3000 BC to 1000 BC. There are no roads to this park and it can only be accessed via watercraft. Come out and explore over 20 miles of trails where you can catch a nice view of the lake and nearby mountains including Mount Lassen and Mount Shasta.

To contact the park office please call 530-335-2277.
