Welcome to the spectacular Garden of the Gods Park nestled in the Rocky Mountain Foothills just west of Colorado Springs. This park boasts 20 major rock formations including Steamboat Rock, Kissing Camels, and balanced rock. Climbing opportunities do exist in the park and there are also over eight miles of multipurpose trails and so much more.
Park History: The land that is now Garden of the God's Park was occupied by various Native American tribes including the Utes and and various Plains tribes long before the arrival of European settlers. The first white man to own the land was railroad tycoon Charles Perkins who had the intent of donating the land to the City of Colorado Springs as a park. Sadly Perkins died before he could grant his own wish but his children granted it for him in 1909. Come on out and explore!
