Welcome to Connecticut's Fort Griswold Battlefield State Park located near Groton. This park was the site of a Revolutionary War Battle that occurred on September 6, 1781 when Benedict Arnold led British forces to capture the fort and kill over half of the 165 defenders that were stationed there. Today this park has a Revolutionary War Museum and is also a stop on the Thames River Heritage Park Water Taxi route.
