Welcome to the home of Latin America's largest plant market at 32 acres in size, the unique Xochimilco Ecological Park/Parque Ecológico de Xochimilco located in Xochimilco, Mexico, a suburb of Mexico City. This park is rich in history and initially the ecosystem was ruined by vast restorations efforts have been underway for years with some success. Over 150,000 school children come here on field trips annually. The park is mainly made up of manmade islands known as "Chinampas" and people can get tours of the islands and the lake on boats known as "Trajineras."
