Welcome to Florida's beautiful Washington Oaks Gardens State Park nestled between the Matanzas River and Atlantic Ocean in Palm Coast, Florida.

Park History: Washington Oaks Gardens State Park receives it's name because the land was once owned by a distant relative of President George Washington. In more recent years the land was owned by Owen Young, a New York Attorney who served on the board for General Electric and was named Time Magazine's Man of the Year in 1929. Young helped to design this park's beautiful gardens. Mr. Young passed away in 1962 and bequeathed the land to his widow who donated it to the State of Florida right before she passed on in 1965. One of the park's trees, Washington Oak, is over 300 years in age.
