Welcome to the Brasstown Bald Trailhead and Picnic Area located in the Georgia Blue Ridge Mountains not far from Blairsville. This trail will take you to the top of the State of Georgia, at an elevation of 4,784 feet above sea level. The view from here is spectacular and one can see places in four different states, Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, and South Carolina. On clear days it is even possible to see the Atlanta skyline, located over 80 miles away! At the bottom of the trailhead there are picnic areas.
This was RecPlanet place of the day on March 23, 2018 in memory of Zell Miller who passed that day and grew up in nearby Young Harris.
