Welcome to the beautiful Piedmont National Wildlife Refuge located in central Georgia's Piedmont region right next to the Oconee National Forest. Like the Oconee National Forest the Piedmont National Wildlife Refuge helps protect important wildlife habitat for white-tailed deer, birds, raccoons, coyotes, foxes, and bobcats. And also like the Oconee National Forest there are remains of old settlements and cemeteries scattered throughout the place. With over 200 species of birds it draws bird-watchers from miles around.
