Welcome to the Sawtooth National Forest located in the heart of Idaho!  

Forest History: The Sawtooth National Forest started off as part of the "Yellowstone Park Timberland Reserve" in March 1891. On May 29, 1905 President Theodore Roosevelt established the Sawtooth National Forest by Presidential Proclamation.  

Wildlife: Sawtooth National Forest helps protect the home of numerous wild critters including deer, bears, coyotes, squirrels, mountain lions, raccoons, foxes, and bald eagles. Please treat their home with respect.  

For the lover of the outdoors Sawtooth National Forest boasts the Bald Mountain Ski Resort, miles of multipurpose trails, many mountains to climb, and so much more. Come on out and explore.
