Ethel's Woods Forest Preserve
Welcome to the Ethel's Woods Forest Preserve, named in honor of the woman who helped create the Lake County Forest Preserve District in 1958, Ethel Untermyer. Some of the preserves trees include bur oaks of more than a century in age, white oaks, shagbark hickories, and black walnuts. The preserves 60 acre Rasmussen Lake provides habitat for various species of birds, mammals, and reptiles.
