Welcome to Ten Mile Creek State Fish and Wildlife Area located near McLeansboro, Illinois.

Preserve History: The land that is now Ten Mile Creek State Fish and Wildlife Area is part of an old strip coal mine and was purchased by the State of Illinois in 1988. Since that time much of the land has been restored.

Flora and Fauna: This preserve is home to numerous species of plants and animals. Some of the preserve's plants include oaks, hickories, elms, cherries, and others. Some of the preserve's animals include deer, squirrels, doves, wild turkeys, rabbits, quails, and others. Please treat their home with respect.

For the lover of the outdoors this is a popular hunters and anglers destination. Come on out and explore.
