Welcome to Opossum Walk Nature Preserve in Charlotte, North Carolina. Come out and hike the trails.

When visiting any park in Mecklenburg County please respect the rules.
*The following are all prohibited; alcoholic beverages, defacing public property, harming wildlife, littering.
*The following activities are only allowed in designated areas; bicycling, inline skating, skateboarding, motor vehicles, swimming.
*It is required by law that all persons aged 16 and under wear helmets when cycling or skating in the parks. Please be safe. Helmet and pads are required in the skate parks.
*The following activities require special permits; camping, carrying any kind of weapon (except for law enforcement officers), operating any private watercraft, setting off fireworks, sales and solicitations.
*Please use all athletic facilities only for their designated purpose.
*All dogs must be leashed (no longer than 6 feet) and not enter areas where it is posted that they are prohibited. Please also clean up after your dog.
