Welcome to Seattle's Fauntleroy Park, a small urban forest that was named for a nearby cove on Puget Sound that was named for Elinor Fauntleroy by her fiance Lt. George Davidson, who arrived in the region in the mid 19th century. Davidson also named a peak in the nearby mountains after the same woman. In the early 20th century, this region was developed by realtor John Adams and gained a large number of new migrants during the post World War II suburban boom. Though small in size, this forest is very lush with vegetation and makes for a great hike for both people and dogs. Come out and explore.
