Welcome to California's beautiful Emerald Bay State Park, a piece of land that has been designated as a National Natural Landmark since 1969. This park also boasts the Vikingsholm which is considered to be one of the greatest works of Scandanavian architecture in the western hemisphere. In the late 19th century during the construction of Vikingsholm and the Emerald Bay resort many large boats were used on the lake for the transportation of construction materials. Many of those boats are now resting on the lakebed and in 1994 Emerald Bay was designated as an underwater state park. Today this park boasts hiking trails, sailboarding opportunities, and much more. Come on out and have a blast!
