Lakewood Colorado Parks
Welcome to Bear Creek Greenbelt located in Lakewood, Colorado on the banks of Bear Creek.
Park History: Still standing inside this park is a historic stone house dating back to the days of Colorado's gold rush. It is believed to have been built sometime between 1859 and 1864 and it's walls are up to 18 inches thick in places. In 1975 it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the first building in the City of Lakewood to be on that list.
Wildlife: Bear Creek Greenbelt helps protect the home of numerous wild animals including white-tailed deer, coyotes, beavers, hummingbirds, and kingfishers. Please treat their home with respect.
For the lover of the outdoors this park boasts horseshoe pits, a picnic shelter, multipurpose trails, and much more. Come on out and have fun!

Lakewood Park Rules
*Swimming, ice-fishing, and ice-skating are prohibited on all park lakes.
*Horses are only allowed on designated equestrian trails.
*All parks open at 5am and close at 10pm unless otherwise designated by the Director of Community Resources.
*All motorized vehicles must stay on streets or in designated parking areas.
*No glass objects allowed in the parks.
*With the exception of 3.2 beer, consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited.
*Do not feed, harrass, or remove any wildlife.
*All dogs must be leashed and waste removed.
*Golfing is not allowed in any of Lakewood's parks.
*Flying of remote control aircraft is prohibited.
