Mingo National Wildlife Refuge, Puxico, MO
Missouri’s swampland in Mingo National Wildlife Refuge makes the perfect afternoon adventure.
Mingo established in 1944 as a resting and wintering area for migratory waterfowls draws nearly a 100,000 visitors a year and why? Because it is absolutely beautiful year round.
My favorite activity at Mingo is taking an afternoon stroll through the well-designed boardwalks, but there is so much to do and so many things to do. Wildlife hides out in the well-protected area, unusual plants grow here, and it is unique year around. Mingo should be on the top 10 list of best places to catch unique photos in the world.
Activities at Mingo National Wildlife Refuge include fishing, hunting, hiking, photography, and bird watching. Mingo is located at 24279 State Highway 51 Puxico, MO or you can visit the website at http://midwest.fws.gov/mingo.
Have an Adventurous Day!
