Welcome to the beautiful Cheney Lake Park in Anchorage, Alaska. In 1972 this site was an active gravel quarry but eventually became a man made lake. The State Government gave forth the money to purchase this land in 1975 and additional funding from the Land and Water Conservation Fund helped build the park's facilities. The lake itself is named for Roy Cheney.
