Welcome to Shoup Bay State Marine Park in Valdez, Alaska. During the Good Friday Earthquake on March 27th 1964 this park was hit by a 150 foot tidal wave. The Good Friday Earthquake was the most powerful one in United States history measuring a 9.2 on the Richter Scale and lasting for 4 minutes and 38 seconds.
