Welcome to Blevins Gap Nature Preserve in Huntsville, Alabama.

Trails: Blevins Gap Nature Preserve has over 8 miles of trails and many entrances. To access the North Section please go to 2275 Cecil Ashburn Drive.

The following trails are located in the South Section.

The popular Bill and Marion Certain Trail is just under 2 miles long and provides access to a few different overlooks. The uphill section is great exercise.

The Lowery Trail is just over a quarter mile long and is moderately challening with it's 130 foot gain in elevation.

The Smokerise Trail is a mile and a half long and has an elevation gain of 330 feet within half a mile. While on the trail one will see old growth forest, natural springs, and rock formations.

The Sugar Tree Trail is a mile and a half long and quite rocky. Perhaps the most unique thing one will see on this trail is the remains of an old car.

The Varnedoe Trail is 1.79 miles long and is pretty easy. There are many rock formations as well as a few lookout points.

The West Bluff Trail is 0.8 miles long and has some nice views of the Tennessee River Valley.

The following trails are located in the North Section.

The Bailey Cove Trail is a steep quarter mile long trail that gains 250 feet in elevation and passes along some waterfalls.

The Chittamwood Trail is just under a quarter mile long and gains 109 feet in elevation.

The Fanning Trail is just over 2 miles long and ascends several hundred feet for the first half. There are many benches along the trail where one can sit and rest. During the winter months the hiker will have a great view of south Huntsville.

The Jones Valley Loop Trail is about 3 quarters of a mile long and has a bridge that is great for photo opportunities.

The Stevenson Trail is just over half a mile long and has a 170 foot elevation gain.

The Walsingham Trail is just over a quarter mile long and is pretty flat and easy.

The Scout Trail is 0.37 miles long and not much information is available about this one.
