War Memorial Park
Welcome to War Memorial Park in Little Rock, Arkansas. The City of Little Rock first purchased this land in 1924 and hired landscape architects Pearce and Robinson to design the park. For 25 years it was known as Fair Park due to being the site of the former fairgrounds but in 1949 it was renamed War Memorial Park in memory of all those who perished during WWII. President Truman himself was in Little Rock for the renaming ceremony. This park is also home to the city zoo, the picnic area has grills, the 2 tennis courts are lighted, and the pool at the Jim Dailey Fitness and Aquatic Center has a waterslide making it a popular place for hot summer days.
