Welcome to the Apache National Forest in Arizona.
Forest History: The Apache National Forest is named after the Apache tribe who lived in the region long before the arrival of European settlers. The forest's landscapes range in elevation from as low as 3,500 feet ASL to as high as 11,500 feet ASL at the summit of Mt. Baldy. Apache National Forest boasts four Congressionally-designated wilderness areas, the Escudilla, Bear Wallow, Mount Baldy, and Blue Range wilderness areas. The trout streams of the Apache National Forest are widely recognized.
