Lake Morena Park

Welcome to Lake Morena Park in Campo, California in the foothills of La Laguna Mountains approximately 3000 feet above sea level and about 45 minutes to an hour drive from downtown San Diego. This park's wilderness is a diversity of southern California scenery including mountain, coastal, and desert habitats.

Camping: There are indoor lodging options at wilderness cabins and outdoor options with both developed and primitive campsites, 86 of them to be exact. 58 of them have electricity and water.

Boating: Watercraft including motorized boats are permitted but swimming is not. There are even motorized boat rentals. Personal watercraft have recently become permitted on Lake Morena.

Trails: Come out and explore over 8 miles of multipurpose trails. While hiking one may see deer, bobcats, or bald eagles.

Fishing: During the winter months trout flourish in the waters of Lake Morena. In the past there have been two world records for largemouth bass. Other fish in the waters include bluegill, catfish, and crappie.
