Klamath National Forest
Welcome to Klamath National Forest located on the border between Oregon and California.
Wildlife and Habitats: The forests diverse landscapes range from steep and rugged terrain to gentler rolling terrain, from as low as 450 feet ASL to as high as 8,900 feet ASL. This is one of the most biologically diverse regions in the United States and is located on a transition zone between the hot dry areas of the south to the cold wet areas of the north. More species of conifers live inside this forest than anywhere else in the world. It is also home to the Siskiyou Mariposa Lily where is found nowhere else in the world. Some of the wild animals that live here include elk, wild horses, minks, deer, bears, otters, bobcats, badgers, mountain lions, ospreys, and bald eagles. Please treat their home with respect.
For the lover of the outdoors Klamath National Forest boasts over 1,100 miles of multipurpose trails, over 200 miles of National Wild and Scenic Rivers, many mountains to climb, and so much more. Come on out and have a blast!
