Martin Luther King Jr. Park
Welcome to Martin Luther King Jr. Park located in Long Beach, California, a suburb of Los Angeles. Like many parks around the nation this one was named for Reverand Martin Luther King Jr. who was born in Atlanta, Georgia on January 15, 1929 and died in Memphis, Tennessee on April 4, 1968. King led many brave Civil Rights battles against racism and won many victories. This park was established in 1964 as 19th street playground but was renamed for MLK in 1968.
