Helen Keller Park

Welcome to Los Angeles County's Helen Keller Park. This community park was named after the very disabled as well as very brave Alabama woman Helen Keller, who lost both her sense of sight and sense of hearing to meningitis when she was only 19 months of age. Helen Keller did not let this misfortune ruin her life and she became an author and an advocate for women's rights and workers rights. Today this park named in her memory boasts a swimming pool, a basketball court, a picnic area with grills, and much more. All of the athletic facilities are lighted so people can play at night. Come on out and have fun.
