Welcome to Greer Park in Palo Alto, California, home to Leland Stanford University. This park is named for Irish seafarer Captain John Lucas Greer who settled in the region with some friends of his in 1849. Greer's friends rushed off to the Gold Rush but Greer did not. Come out and play some ball, hang ten at the skate park, or grill some meats at the picnic area.
