Welcome to California's beautiful Hendy Redwoods State Park. This northern California wilderness helps protect trees that are over 300 feet in height and over 1000 years in age, very few parks in the world have that.

Picnicking: There are 12 picnic sites all of them have grills. Please use extreme caution during the dry season.

Camping: Hendy Redwoods State Park has 92 primitive campsites. That means no electrical or water hookups are available.

Wildlife: Many wild creatures call this park home including black bears, bobcats, and skunks. Please treat their home with respect when visiting.

Park history: For thousands of years before the first Europeans arrived in the region the Pomo Native American tribe called this land home. In the mid 18th century during the California Gold Rush days a man named Joshua Hendy immigrated to the area and ironically was a timberman but vowed never to cut down these giant redwoods. Hendy eventually entered the mining business.
