Brannan Island State Recreation Area
Welcome to California's beautiful Brannan Island State Recreation Area located on the banks of the Sacramento River. This park is named for Sam Brannan, California's first Millionaire who made his fortune by selling gold. Many anglers come here from miles around to catch sturgeon, striped bass, bullhead, bluegill, and catfish. The picnic area is well shaded and has grills so bring some meats for cooking. Come out and launch a boat and explore the river or cool down at the swimming beach on a hot summer day.
Camping: Brannan Island State Recreation Area has over 100 campsites but only a few of them have electrical and water hookups. All are located near bathhouses and there are dumpstations in places. Come out and stay a few nights.
