Donner Memorial State Park

Truckee, California

Welcome to California's beautiful Donner Memorial State Park, located high in the Sierra Nevada Mountains on the shore of Donner Lake. It was here in the winter of 1846-1847 that the infamous Donner Party got stranded and resorted to cannibalism in order to stay alive. Today Donner Memorial State Park boasts 154 developed campsites, over two miles of hiking trails, a boat ramp, numerous aquatic opportunities and much more. Come out and explore!
