Welcome to the grand and magnificent Upper Las Virgenes Canyon Open Space Preserve located in the foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains just outside of Woodland Hills, California. This park was once known as Ahmanson Ranch and helps protect the headwaters of Malibu Creek. The landscape is primarily grassland with oak trees and sycamores scattered here and there and there are a few endangered species on the property including the California red-legged frog and the San Fernando Valley Spineflower. There are many miles of multipurpose trails just waiting to be explored and the park's Ranch House is popular for weddings and other events.
