Walden Ponds Wildlife Habitat

Boulder, Colorado

Welcome to the Walden Ponds Wildlife Habitat! In 1958, this site was used as a gravel quarry until the early 1970's. In 1974 the land was purchased by Boulder County and they began to restore the damaged landscape in order to create wildlife habitat. Today the park serves as wildlife habitat for ducks, blue herons, geese, turtles, frogs, and fish. The park also boasts over 2.6 miles of multi-purpose trails. Come on out and explore!

Several open space parcels are included in this park's acreage.
