Welcome to what is often known as "the oasis on the edge of the desert," Sweitzer Lake State Park located in Delta, Colorado. The land that is now Sweitzer Lake State Park was donated to the State of Colorado in 1953 by the family of Morgan Sweitzer.

Wildlife: The shrublands, meadows, wetlands, and woodlands of Sweitzer Lake State Park help protect the home of numerous wild critters including foxes, rabbits, raccoons, and deer. Please treat their home with respect.

From a distance the visitor can view the San Juan Mountains, the Uncompahgre Plateau and Grand Mesa-the largest flattop mountain in the world, and the West Elk Mountain Range. This park boasts boat ramps, a swimming beach, and picnic areas with grills. Come on out and have a blast!
