Welcome to the unique and beautiful Selden Neck State Park, an island oasis located on the Connecticut River near Lyme. This island was separated from the mainland in the mid-19th century by floods and erosion. The island is only accessible via watercraft. The island itself is the largest one in the Connecticut River and is named for a late 17th century landowner by the name of John Seldon. Two centuries later a quarry was operated on the island and many of the stones helped build the streets of New York City.
