Macricostas Preserve
New Preston, Connecticut
Welcome to the beautiful Macricostas Preserve in New Preston, Connecticut near Lake Waramaug State Park. A big section of this preserve is a wetland known as Meeker Swamp which has a viewing platform that is great for wildlife viewing. While exploring the trails one can reach the highest point in the preserve, Waramaug's Rock at 1,250 feet above sea level where one can catch some great views of the surrounding region. The local community piched in to help create the preserve's marvelous Judea Garden.
