Welcome to Quinnipiac River State Park in North Haven, Connecticut. The DOT purchased this land in the 1960's with the initial purpose of highway construction when building the Wilbur Cross Parkway. However in the end this section of land was not made into a road and it became a State Park in 1948. Some of the resident wildlife inclue blue herons, otters, wild turkeys, and bald eagles. One can access the 24 mile Quinnipiac Trail from this park.
