Welcome to the largest National Forest in the State of Florida, the Apalachicola National Forest, sprawling across the Florida panhandle not far from the State Capitol. The Apalachicola National Forest was established in 1936.

Wildlife: The Apalachicola National Forest helps protect the home of numerous plant and animals species. Some of the plants that grow inside the boundaries include pines, cypress trees, wildflowers, and many others. Some of the wild animals who call this place home include squirrels, deer, black bears, alligators, and many more. Please treat their home with respect.

For the lover of the outdoors Apalachicola National Forest boasts over 67 miles of the Florida Trail, numerous boat launches, and so much more. For history lovers, remains of of Fort Gadsden, a war post from the war of 1812 can be found inside the forest. Come on out and explore.
