Welcome to Jacksonville's Dutton Island Preserve. Formerly known as Pine Island, the City Atlantic Beach purchased this land from a man named Walter Dutton in 1998. The City of Jacksonville purchased another tract in 1999 and throughout the late 20th and early 21st century the two cities worked together with the Trust for Public Land, local real estate broker Tom Dumas, and the State of Florida to help develop this beautiful park which now boasts picnic tables, canoe/kayak launches, hiking trails, and more. Come on out and have a blast!
